Hi all. I am almost done creating my company's database and now it is time to assign the company's users securities. I did it a couple times with the wizard to almost lock myself out a all but one. Thankfully I was able to sign in as the administrator and export the database to a new file to lose prior securities. The wizard is not saving any of the users I am putting in, nor their privileges. THe wizard has 8 or so "premade" user groups. For a lot of my company's users...they need privileges to two or more of these premade groups...by selecting 2 or more...does this negate each other...causing the wizard to not save anything...or do I need to relearn running a wizard?

Thanks,
Tired of access here.

Hi Madetoheal13.

I recomend not uzing the security wizard at all, especially if you are using access 2000. Microsoft.com has articles explaining the flaws.

The link below worked very nicely for me. I found it here some time ago. I hope it helps you too. It applies to 97/2000. Maybe to later versions also, but I can't say.

Thanks,
ChaZ

I printed the info from that link...but I have Access2003 do you think it will still work, and do I follow the instructions as if I were using Access2000?
Thanks for your advice.

I would think so, but I don't use 2003 myself. It should be the same if you do it manually, as th link suggests.

Thanks,
ChaZ
