Hello, I have 2 questions that will hopefully not turn into a rant.

background is that we currently run 2 citrix mf 1.8 boxes on win2k adv server sp 3. I have a few different domains connecting to these citrix boxes and different users require different drive mappings. to date i have just used the ifmember.exe prog to look at nt groups and i have a different set of maps for each group. ANyway Im now finding that we dont really need citrix and we can do what we need to with just TS app mode.
1. do logons work the same in ts as in citrix, i have tried the identical login script to no avail.
2. I have users at 3 remote locations each with there own default printer, I need TS to adapt to that is this possible or do I need to stick with citrix.
thanks for the help

hi,
I am a Citrix Reseller and commercial focus points
we say to the customer when we try to sell Metaframe are:

- Remote connection performances
- Continuity of service (load balancing)

I belive, about your 2 points, that, for those, you
don't need Metaframe ( the login phase, is managed
by Windows, not Metaframe, and I belive you can configure
the RDP connection to map client printer ).

To make a definitive decision, try to connect from
remote locations using rdp and evaluate performance.

bye

Check into Windows 2003 Server. It's newer version of TS has many of the features that people use Citrix for.

There is a utility that can aid in the printing issues and make them non-existent for the most part. Since this is a "non-sales" forum, I can't really provide that information. If you would like me to contact you, let me know... location would help as well.
