Okay, I use Veritas Backup Exec daily, but I need to backup a single machine that has some extra project work on it and am trying to use the built-in backup program on thie 2K server. There's nothing Veritas installed on this machine either. I've setup and scheduled the jobs over the weekend to run and backup to a network share. The share has accurate permissions and the jobs are setup correctly. Herein is the question. I came in this morning and noticed that the job hadn't even attempted to run. Nothing in Eventvwr and no errors to looks at. I looked on the "Scheduled Jobs" tab and it shows all jobs scheduled correctly. Did I miss something in this stripped down version of a backup utility?

What about media pools and the such ? Getting unattended backups to run in Win2K with the "free" backup utility I found to be quite difficult. The most difficult aspect of this is mounting the tapes and working with media pools.

Bill.

Well, I solved my own problem. Looks like I recreated the jobs on Friday, but only after I renamed the share. So, the jobs were still pointing at the old network share. Everything appears to be AOK now and running great.
