This happens from time to time due to users ungracefully exiting the process. The Macola article, 12.489.144 says to reinitialize the MRCTLFIL file to fix it. But all that is wrong is the Regen_In_Proc field is set to Y instead of N.

Does setting this manually to N cause any problems? Reinitializing the entire file causes extra work.

I hope not, because it appears to have worked just fine...

V7.6.100 MS-SQL

We used to have this same issue...and I was advised by our Var to just flip the Regen_In_Proc field from Y to N, as you stated. We did not encounter any issues from doing so.

I would advise that you be sure to kill the process and / or logout of Macola on whatever machine was running it at the time....just to be sure.

Also, I guess if you exported the MRCTLFIL when the flag was set to N....then you could simply Init the file, then Import that record back in and be good to go.

We are on V7.6.300c

Yep. Had the user log out first.

Killing the process is a little scary in SQL (and cumbersome) and not as easy as betrieve was.

The Macola KB suggested doing the same thing about exporting a copy. I guess those dates in the file are not important as they would be updated at the next regen.

Thanks
