Does anybody have any input regarding MRP exceptions report? We have years of MRP experience here and we find the exceptions confusing and not always accurate (?) Our company has grown considerably and our Materials Manager is looking to use the Exception reports. We take particular issue with exception code "L". Sometimes it tell us to move out orders, other times we would expect an "L" and there isn't one. Can anyone explain the Macola explanation? It is making no sense....
thanks in advance

Regarding items where there is no exception, do the items all have an order policy code? Do you see CP orders for these same items? Also check the time fence values.

No time fence. Have checked all codes...
One example..part 001 qty 53 on hand
2 released shop orders-past due (scheduled 10-06; 10-09}
first requirement 10-09 covered by qty on hand
second requirement 10-20 will need both shop orders

no exception messages for either shop order-is this because they and the requirements are past due? i have a feeling we are assuming that macola will suggest scheduling as we have seen in other software..tell us to move these orders to 10-20--even if they are late.

i hope you can understand what i am trying to get at--thanks alot
