Only fair to say that I am with business objects consulting, but you may want to have a look at BO's own DataIntegrator product. It is a full fledged ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) tool.

CODEBUSTER is correct. You certainly need an ETL tool and there are several good ones out there. However, tools are not the problem. If you truly want to move into the BI world, you need to prepare correctly.
1) You need to develop a strategy for BI. You need to know what you want out of it. What are the Key metrics and required elements you company needs to run. What reporting do you want out of the environment.
2) You need to map and gap your requirements to the data sources you have available. I know this sounds simple, but you'd be shocked at the process. Companies continually tell us what they need to run. But 20% of it isn't even captured by their systems.
3) You need to develop a data model that supports your requirements.
4) You need to populate that data model from the source systems. This is where an ETL tool comes in.
5) You need to prototype with your users. Users will shock you at what they really want. You will use Business Objects to help them solidify the requirements.
