Has anyone had any experience using MQ client software/libraries on the AS400? We are exploring having an AS400 act as an MQ client to an MQ cluster of NT machines. Any experiences good/bad would be appreciated.

Clients can connect to a QMgr on the AS/400 but there is no AS/400 client software (although it might be possible to use Java...)

Hi i have recently implemented this type of facility. You install the java client and it works great. I even had the code for you if you like to save your programmers this hassle. Compared to MQSI this is a good way of doing things. AS/400 is enjoying a renansonce .. so i really like the way it is handling things at the moment. The as/400 has come back and is competeing with Unix and completely outshone NT and that shite win 2000.

I agree. Although never a great AS/400 fan, IBM definitely did the right thing by dropping the old AS/400-specific MQ and porting the distributed Version 5.x.

And I can't see how anyone could even mention AS/400 and Windows in the same sentence ;-)

I'm not sure what you mean by:

Compared to MQSI this is a good way of doing things. ?

Cheers,
Paul
