My company is looking at going to MPLS from point to points.
I'm looking for some info on MPLS and people who may have gone through such a transition.

We have our own routers right now and the company that did the originally setup created VLANS on the routers themselves instead of core switches. Is this going to be a problem?

We also have IPSec/GRE Tunnels as backup routes going over our internet T1's. How does this complicate things? If they want to replace our routers with theirs will they allow us to have a tunnel created on it?

I have a meeting on Friday but wanted to learn a little bit and look for any questions that I might be able to ask them.
thanks in advance.

1. No, but they'll need be readdressed.

2. It can be transparent if they introduce another appliance at the edge (not recommended, generally speaking).

3. Depends on the provider and how things are currently set-up.

I might consider advising to securing the services of an internetworking professional to access; the situation, configurations, caveats and anything else that may need be taken into consideration.
