Connecting 3 Merlin Legend/Magix sites to an MPLS circuit using Multitech MVP2410's at each site. Originally a point 2 point PRI with 1 central site and 2 remote sites. PRI is working fine but the voip is having problems seems to reach the remote site but then the call fails. Is there a straightforward guide for this type of install?

To answer your question:

"Is there a straightforward guide for this type of install?"

No, there is not.

You can look at the MULTITECH Documents, but I seriously doubt that they are specific enough to do you any good. They have a known reputation of poor documentation.

You can't blame them, after all, they make devices that can (and probably will) interface with each and every telephone switch out there. Its just an issue of being able to have a lab for "EACH AND EVERY TELEPHONE SWITCH OUT THERE" that would be difficult, or rather, IMPOSSIBLE.

When you say "seems to reach the remote site but then the call fails" exactly what are you telling us?

Are you able to PRINT the ERROR LOG?

What Line Ports are involved?

And exactly how are you interfacing the Legend/Magix with the MULTITECH product?

The networking protocol used between Legends and Magix is proprietary. As far as I know, the MultiTech box expects (and only transports) standard PRI protocols. Ask MultiTech support if there is a "transparent" mode for end-to-end connections. That's what you'll need to make this thing work.

If they don't support such a mode, then take a look at the RAD IPmux-14 (See I have successfully networked Legends & Magix using even their early IPmux-1. They have implemented a "circuit emulation" mode in their product that's perfect for this application.
