this is aix 5.2 ml2 btw; here are steps taken;
a] umountall
b] chg lv name = other; changing loglv
c] edit /etc/filesystems = other
d] remount and test = other
e] umount
f] varyoffvg
g] exportvg
h] rmdev -dl fcsX -R
i] install drivers
j] reboot
k] importvg = depends where pvid is, mine were hdisk
l] fix vg dpovgfix
m] mount and test
