Hello! I am new to setting up a new AIX client (p5/5.3)for non IBM SAN and storage (HDS). Unlike other SAN clients when MPIO is used to setup multipathing, it takes a long time for the lost path to show effect when I do device listing.

1. How to make the path failover faster? (failback works fine with hcheck_interval set to 60)

2. What might the best command to verify to show a failed path or when both paths are active?

Thanks!

see info in this thread: thread52-1068895

HTH,

I read it prior to the question and thought there is not all the information:

I do gather setting the fc_recovery attribute
a. How could I list the current settings?
b. What might the best command to verify/show a failed path or when both paths are active?

Thanks for your reply.

lsattr -E -l fscsi0
lsattr -E -l fscsi1
...
I would assume

I don't want to state the obvious...but

are you using the "lspath" command? That's a good way to list the path status for mpio devices.

Thank you! This helps. I misunderstood the use of lsattr command.
