MPEG-2 in Premiere 6.0?

This question has been asked before but not answered: Is there any way(e.g., some feature in Premiere itself or some plug-in) to import MPEG-2 files into Premiere 6.0 in order to perform editing operations on them?

Hey there,

Premiere 6 itself only supports mpeg1 via the Cleaner that comes with it.

If your capture card doesn't give you a plug-in for mpeg, you might want to try:


problem is their plug-ins are not free.

Hi

Premiere does export as mp2 with the Pinnacle DV500 card - is that right? But imports only as .avi ?
