Hiee,

Is there a way to protect .mp3's from being exposed on napster?

Thanks,
Jenny

Nope...sorta.
If you have copyrighted material, and you don't want it on Napster, just email them with the full details, and they MAY do something about it.
I know there is still a huge amount of music on Napster, but you can't find any Metallica or Elvis, so they must have a way of blocking searches, or somesuch. Cheers,

Yeah, you're right Simon, but I wanted to avoid that. I creates less confusion on my hard drive.

Any other ideas or information is welcome.
Thanks to those who have posted.

Just move the file to a different folder, you can set preferences in napster as far as which folders are shared, just move the ones you don't want shared to a non-shared folder. She's trying to not share files on her drive, right?

Hi mbaranski,
Yeah ok, thanks for the info. I remember something about making preferences that had to do with shared and unshared folders when I signed up with napster.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Well, here I assumed (I know...) that you already had the folders set up in Napster, but your stuff was already spread around and you were trying to stop the spread, not simply reading the instructions in Napster. X-) Cheers,

Ahhh, well, once again, the simplest solution was the one (not being a smart ***, just a good troubleshooting methodology, simplest first)

Thanks!
