Me and a friend have recently been experimenting with using multiple mp3 files with different tones/voices etc, to create musical compositions...

The result...other than crappy music...;) was that we could turn lots of used space in the plain mp3, to frames in flash. With some work, we have been re-creating our music with it, and the file size is PRETTY DARN GOOD!...

Not only can we specify different bitrates for each sample were using (such as voice at a lower sample rate, and guitar at higher sample rates)...but also, with certian things that repeat, such as refrains, and other stuff, taking down file size even more. Also, if we need an echo, we can just use the same file twice...so far, I'm wondering if you could use flash mixed with mp3's as a medium for creating web based music...;) Have any of you had such luck or seen this at work?

Are there any sites which use a mix of different mp3's combined with flash to make some good music?...techno perhaps? When life gives you lemons...throw them back and get the oranges you ordered! :-Q

Is there anyone who has done this before? Regards,

Yea, I've gotten better with it now...can do echos, those jittering repeats, etc...and with certian refrains, we use 2 different files because voices change just a SLIGHT bit when sung over again and gets repedative if you dont do anything different with it...

It's really neat, we've taken things from mp3 music generator, made our own guitar riffs, etc...

At points it CAN get a little resource intensive, but were planning on rerouting the music generated by flash into an mp3...it defeats the purpose of the smaller file size, but it makes flash a great music editing tool Regards,
