I heartily endorse this product and/or service.
Using Firebird 0.7 as default now.

Couple of w3.org pages to show you how badly IE is dropping the ball:
Try on IE & one of the above to see the difference [spin2]

add in no ad popups and we have a winner :)

clarkin,

I see both test pages perfectly with IE.

Okay, tried it, and can see the difference.

The looks better in Opera than Firebird.

In Opera I see a menu across the tope of the page to other areas of the site. In IE and Firebird & Mozilla, I don't.

Interesting.

Yeah, position:fixed (as seen in the Style/Examples link) is pretty useful. Imagine a world where you no longer need to suffer frames :)

Been using Firebird as my default browser for the last two ish weeks.

I won't be going back to IE 6 :)

More useful features:
- try middle-clicking on an interesting link in the middle of an article you are reading. Nice.
- extensions (user-made bits & bobs) are VERY easy to install/remove. Currently using one to spoof my UA string when needed (eg, your internet banking site claims IE is required while actually pretending you are using IE is enough X-P)

Some other improvements that are just direct side effects of not using IE anymore:
- signing into hotmail doesn't pause the PC for 5 seconds while the MS Messenger client is loaded into the system tray

Will post more if I think of em.. what about u folks?

Not to mention all the nasty browser hijacking stuff that comes up in this forum seems to be IE only.

Then again, the type of people who are using Firebird/Mozilla probably don't get their IE hijacked either..
