Hi all,

Does anyone managed to move the windows between 2 monitors in Solaris2.6 using Xmove ? I can't compile it and can't get the binary version to work. What other alternative can be use ? Now the mouse is able to cross the monitors but not the windows. I not sure if Solaris 7 which has Xinerama might be able to handle this. Thanks alot !!

I know this doesn't directly address your question, because I'm not using Xmove, but I've come across 2 similar situations, and these were my solutions:

1. Linux-based PC with 2 graphics cards and monitors.

I installed the latest version of XFree86 - 4.0.2, which allowed me to configure the 2 cards and monitors. I got this from the Sun freeware site.

2. Solaris server running Citrix Metaframe.

Using the recent update from Citrix's site, I set up a session on a client PC running Windows 98, with a Matrox Dualhead installed. The apps have no problems stretching across 4 monitors.

It was possible to move many apps between the monitors, including xanim and xview (although I did end up confusing myself a little!).

I also tested this setup using the Linux box in the above scenario with no issues. The only real issue is the $$$.

I hope this helps and/or is of interest.
