Since our provider's policies have limited our incoming to about 1/3 or less of incoming mail, we are setting up mail on a dedicated hosting plan with Slicemail. Fortunately there's an IP security geek with adequate knowledge of Linux, etc, in the family to help while we get up to speed.
We are having one issue: I want to keep everything on the servers. We have set up a fairly complex system of folders for various accounts, which we need to move from one to another.
To further complicate things I was told to download everything onto Outlook (which deleted my inbox contents from the server before I could stop it..too dumb just to pull the cat 5 cable), so I now have all inbox contents in outlook, other files on the server. I'd like to reunite them in the afterlife.
Here the questions: The current accounts are Pop3 with no way to switch to an exchange and apparently no way to set an Imap account. (automated). The new one will be Imap on linux.
1) Is there a way of downloading everything onto Outlook, all files in their glory (outlook is since set to leave mail on server)
2) How to upload to PST file onto linux?
3) If not outlook, then Thunderbird. Suggestions?
Mille Grazie.
