I am in the process of migrating all my databases and such from ss2000 to ss2005. Is there a way to move all the users in the main security node of ss2000 to the main security node of ss2005?

Export/Import?
Script them out on ss2000 and run the script on ss2005?

Help.

Well off the top of my head, you could use the SSIS "Transfer Login" task.

Another way would be to use the Copy Database Wizard.

Both of these can be found in SS2K5 Mgt Studio.

And if you need to keep the SIDs linked between the logins and the databases, you may want to take a look at the following link:

Thanks

Google for sp_help_revlogin. Put this procedure on your SQL 2000 server and run it. It will output a SQL Script which you can run on the SQL 2005 server to create the logins with the correct passwords and sids.
