I've been tasked with "upgrading" an FTP server from an Enterprise 2 (running Solaris 7) to an E450 (running Solaris 9). I have the E450 rebuilt and ready to go. All I have to do is "move the users and the home directories" onto the new machine. What are your recommendations for the best way to go about this? What files and directories need to be moved?

Thanks, in advance, for your help!

Check out Thread60-289753 for a discussion. Basically it involves tarring up your users' home directories, then untarring them on the new host, followed by transferring the /etc/passwd, /etc/group and /etc/shadow files to the new box and issuing a pwconv to make sure everything is synched. Good luck.
