Is there an easy way to move specific contents of a text field to another text field? I have text fields in my table that contain comments for each month. At the end of the month I would like to move these contents to a different text field so that the original text field is empty.

Let me re-phrase this. Is there a way to automate using a DTS package and if so...how?

JP

Does this mean that your table is going to grow by one column each month?

Yes, and each year I archive the data to an archived database. I have to keep this information for 7 years so after 7 years I can clear it out but for now this is how I have to do it.

The columns for each month I create automatically each month but I can't seem to move the text to these columns. The problem is that I have 10 columns with text that I have to move the text from all of these to 1 column. I do this each month. I know it sounds crazy but I took this over from the creator who left the company. Until I have time to redesign I'm having to create workarounds. Right now I manually move the data.

The text is data entered from 10 different users each month. At the end of the month I move all 10 user's data to this one column. I can't seem to figure out how to move text from multiple columns to one column. I can move 1 to 1 but can't seem to figure out how to do 10 to 1. I hope this makes some sense. Sorry for the multiple posts to answer your question. I'm probably confusing you even more. I thank you for your help.
