Moving SMS-Database to a new SQL Server

Hello,
We have a SMS 2.0 Server, the Database is on a SQL2000 Server. We now bought new Hardware and installed SQL 2000 on it.
Now we want to move the SMS-Database to the new Server. What must be done on the SMS-Server? We found some registry-keys that points to the Database, when we change the name the keys to the new SQL-Servername does it work?

We have a similar plan. We are installing SMS2/SQL2000 on a new server. We want it to replace the current SMS server in the site. (SMS2/SQL7). I doubt it is as easy as I hope. My concern is that it will take some specific configuration. Anybody have experience with this? Insights? Cautions? Documentation perhaps?
