Moving share to new drive - remove sharing first?

I'm moving a folder (not a "users" folder) from an existing nearly full hard drive D: to a new RAID drive E: Initially, the D: drive will go away and E: will be renamed to D:

But, should I remove the sharing first because it will be in effect be temporarily "broken" then recreate it on the new drive. I'm not worried about permissions, everybody has permissions to the entire folder so setting them up will be easy.
