Moving people onto domain... workstation profile migration?

I've already looked at this a little bit but I thought I would get your input.

We are currently in the process of migrating our users from a workgroup onto a domain. The problem is I would like to make this seemless as possible.

We are looking for a nice easy way to bring over their personal settings/ environment from their workgroup profile over to their new profile that will be hosted on their workstations.

We are currently looking at reg hacks and migration tools... but any input from you guys is greatly appreciated!

Can we lock down your platforms:

Are you using win X as your workgroup?

or win XX server as a workgroup server?

and now want to setup WIN XX Server or ? as a domain controller?

What you are migrating from - to is really helpful to any attempt to provide any ideas or solutions. The more detail the more consise the ideas can be.
