I've been having trouble figuring out how to move pages between documents. I know that the sort pages function only works within a publication rather than between, but have heard it is possible to drag and drop pages between documents. I have fiddled around with this by tiling the documents and then trying to drag the icons of the pages from one document to the other, but with no success. Is this possible to do? If so, what step am I missing? Thanks -- all help appreciated.

Go to Layout> Sort Pages and all of the pages will appear as thumbnails. You can drag and drop the pages from there. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

I'm still not able to do what I'm trying to do, which is drag and drop pages between two separate files. When I use the sort page command, it does not allow me to have both files tiled next to each other with thumbnails for both showing. In fact, when the sort pages box is open, the program won't even allow me to click back over to the other file. I broke down and called Adobe, and they say that it isn't a feature of the program, which I just can't believe is possible. To do it the way you describe, how should I be viewing the files before tiling? Thanks for the help!

I apologize, I misunderstood your request. I thought you wanted to sort pages within one doc. There is no way to drag and drop pages between 2 docs.

When I have to bring in pages from one doc to another, I bring up "entire pasteboard" in view, then drag my mouse around the page I want to copy to select the entire contents, CTRL C to copy, CTRL V to paste in the new doc window. If you are copying 2 facing pages together, then CTRL A to select ALL on both pages, CTRL C to copy and then CTRL V to paste in new doc window. A bit tedious, yes, but it works.

Hope this helps. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

Thanks -- that was a workaround I fiddled with and was able to get to work, although I still can't believe dragging and dropping isn't a feature... Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it!
