Hi all,

I'm running a Mitel 3300 ICP and I've got a couple of phones on which I wish to swap the phone numbers.

One is Superset 4025 Ex 871 and the other is IP 5220 Ex 872,

What I want to do is swap the extensions over so that the 4025 is #872 and the 5220 is #871, however I can't seem to find anyway of doing this.

Does anyone know if you can indeed do this?

Thanks,

The easiet and I suppose only way is to delete or clear the numbers for both phones and then re-create them.

Have you tried to do this yet and if so what have you tried and what problems did you encounter?

the simpliest way is to simply re-number extension 872 to *872

re-number 871 to 872 then go back to *872 and re-number that to 871 doing this prevents you form losing any programming associated with the extensions etc.

The grey matter in the old noggin doesn't recall when the "MOV" maintenance commands first appeared, tho LW26 comes to mind.
No published maintenance command in the history of the sx2k call control was ever responsible for more database corruption (and technician grief) than the MOV SWAP command.
Finally in LW28 I recall being specifically admonished NOT to use the command with any sets having PKMs attached.

Obviously you can only use the command with "similar" devices; Multiline DNIC with Multiline DNIC, or ONS with ONS, but never ONS with DNIC and never single line DNIC with multiline DNIC and never DNIC with IP.

I'll probably get corrected on this but I honestly do not believe the MOV SWAP command works at all with IP devices; however in 3300 rls 6.1 you do have user-initiated (!) hot swapping but even here it is restricted to identical devices, i.e., 5220 with 5220.

Mitel disabled the move swap between ip devices in release 4 or 5. Another way to accomplish what you want is through OPSMan. But you must not have it because otherwisse you wouldn't have posted the question! [smile]
