Moving MySQL to a different drive

I have MySQL on C: Drive and am (because of space) trying to move it or the Data directory to another drive.

I've so far had no joy. I've tried changing all of the C: references to E: (my drive with space)in my-example.cnf and saving this file to the C: drive as my.cnf.

However no joy

Couldn't find anything in Readme, Dubois or Installation documentation

Grateful for any help
