I was wondering, which is the easiest way to transport one movie in one document to another movie in a completly defferent document. I really don't want to have to make the same movie over again.... Any suggestions???? Melocco.......

Hi,
It is a bit difficult to know exactly what you mean (it always is hard to explain some flash!)so if I am wrong, ignore me!
I would copy all the frames of your movie that you don't want to recreate and then create a new movie symbol in the main movie and paste all the frames into there. You might have to insert some blank keyframes here and there or do some tweeking but that is what I do.
Hope this helps...

No...I want to put a movie that I made in another .fla Like I make a movie in say.... home.fla Then I want to put one of the scenes in say.... tech.fla how do I make the same scene in another flash file?

Open both flas. Open both libraries. Select from whatever library what you need! I also remember reading you can build & save your own library, holding elements you would want to repeat! Read about in Help somewhere!

;-)

Sorry, misunderstood. I would then do as oldnewbie said and drag the items from the library into the new libary or stage. Simple as that. If you drag it onto the stage it will automatically put all the symbols and images into your new libary.

Hey oldnewbie....If you find where you seen how to save .fla docs in the main libraries, Please let me know....F.Y.I. I hope your connection got better....My cable just came back one after about two freaking weeks.....

Nope! My connection ain't gettin' any better! Especially when all you kids all get online at the same time!

The easiest way to open a library, in another fla, is to use File->Open as Library!

Now looking up Librairies in Help turned this up:

Flash Basics > Using the library > Working with common libraries

Working with common libraries

You can use the built-in libraries included with Flash to add symbols, buttons, or sounds to your movies. You can also create permanent libraries for your Flash application, which you can then use with any movies that you create. (The library you create when authoring a Flash movie is available only with that movie, unless you make the library a permanent library or choose File > Open As Library.)

Both of these types of libraries are listed in the Window > Common Libraries submenu.

To create a permanent library for your Flash application:

1 Create a Flash file with a library containing the symbols that you want to include in the permanent library.
2 Place the Flash file in the Libraries folder located in the Flash application folder on your hard drive.

To use an item from a common library in a movie:

1 Choose Window > Common Libraries, and select a library from the submenu.
2 Drag an item from the common library into the library for the current movie.

Now there's a lot more... Have a look and a nice Flash day!

;-)
