Moving mailboxes from 5.5 to 2000

Hi,
I get the follwoing error when trying to move a mailbox from exchange 5.5 to 2000. I open AD users and comp | right click on the users name | select exchange tasks and go through the wizard. Then I get this error:

Results:

Error: Connecting to source server.
CN=John Doe,CN=Users,DC=domain,DC=com:
The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed.
The MAPI provider failed.
Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store
ID no: 8004011d-0512-00000000

We have exchange 5.5 and 2000 both in the same domain both installed on w2k servers. I have tried logging in as both domain admin and exchange admin and still get the same error. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

When trying to move mailboxes from exchange 5.5 to 2000 I get the above error in the migration wizard. I also get the following 3 errors in the event viewer;

To resolve this issue:
The exchange 2000 server had 2 NIC's installed: One was plugged in and the other wasnt. I had to disable the NIC that did not have a link to the LAN and reboot. Migrating the mailboxes over with no problems I have tested this by enableing the other nic and rebooting then try and move the mailboxes and the error reoccured. So I disabled it rebooted and can move mailboxes over with no errors. I guess the wizard was trying to go out on the wrong NIC to contact the other exchange server. Hope this helps someone else out with the same problem.
