We have run into a problem with M3900 sets is as follows:

Two people are swapping workstations. One has an M3905 phone, the other has an M3903.  The usual practice would be:

·         OUT the M3905 in software (the ACD set)

·         MOV the M3903

·         New the M3905 (the ACD set.)

·         Physically unplug and move the phones.

We have found that both phones MUST be unplugged before doing the MOV step and should not be plugged back in until after the correct programming has been completed for that set.

If not, the shelf will go down (like an INI). This happened whether an M3903 was plugged into a jack programmed as an M3905 or an M3905 set was plugged into a jack programmed as an M3903.

This has happened at one of our sites multiple times so we have put in a process to ensure that the M3900 type phones are now unplugged before we do any work on them.

Anyone else run into this issue?

their has been a warning about having a station programed with the physical set not matching, taking the loop down is the result, seems to be a lot worse with the 3900 series sets, i know it has changed the way we do moves here at the hospital.. i have the installer call me fromthe field, then unplug both sets and do the software move, non acd.. acd sets i might just move the jumper... moving the jumper with the sets trying to come back up has taken a loop down, guess the os is a little green for that... i use ld 117 inv print command to make sure users have not done local moves that result in a mismatch once a week
