Hi

I have been asked to move a number of websites from Windows 2000 server (IIS 5) to Windows 2003 Server (IIS 6), some of the websites have valid certificates attached.

Does anyone have advice, tips or considerations on the procedures and problems that may occur?

Many thanks

I know this is a couple of weeks ago, but I did this a couple of years ago and had a nightmare issue that we took 6 months to solve on and off. If I can spare anyone that then it's a worthwhile post.

We had an issue after moving to IIS 6.0 that some of our sites seemed to kill user sessions. When they logged in and clicked about they were immediately logged out.

The issue turned out to be a problem with our load balancing solution combined with the move. The move had changed the meta ids of the sites, they had to be consistant across all servers for each site.

Once found and corrected no problems at all :).
