We need to move a huge volume on a Dell area to a EMC Clarion area and replace the system box. Second huge volume on an EMC SIM would be moved to the new system. I know a restore would work, but with 320 gig, it is way to slow. What we want to do, is bring up the replacement box in advance, setup the EMC Clarion area as a volume on that server, copy the files to the new disk area in advance and than after the swap, copy new or updated from the Dell area to the Clarion area. Robocopy will work fine for the data, but we need to copy NFS rights to the new system. Is there a utility like Robocopy that will copy the NFS rights or a another utility that would do just rights.

use the /SEC switch in robocopy. It will copy the security permissions as well that way. See robocopy /??? for more switches.
