Hi All,

We have a server running windows 2000/sql 2000 standard sp4.

We would like to move the databases from this older server to a new server. The new server would be an intel 64 bit server. We would like to purchase windows 2003 Enterprise 64 bit and SQL 2000 Enterprise 64 bit (really sql 2005 but we are dumbing it down for the time being).

Essentially, I would like to move these databases from sql 2000 standard 32 bit to sql 2000 enterprise 64 bit.

Is this supported?

thanks.

Yes you can move the databases without any problems.

- Database performance looks fine, it must be the Network!

Thank you.

Anything of concern with dts packages or the like?

You shouldn't have any problems. We made the same move in May of this year without any problems. there will be some settings you won't need anymore. Like you don't need to enable AWE on a 64bit server.
