I have an Avaya Legend system that currently uses Megacom 800 service. I am an 800# newbie so I'm not sure why I need a dedicated T1 but I believe I have one. Does each 800 call take 2 trunks?

For a variety of reasons, I am moving to Readyline so that I can eliminate the dedicated T1 right? But I am going to keep the circuit but convert it to PRI so that I can have 23 more talk paths.

Do I have to re-program my phone system to route the calls differently? How much work is involved to do this conversion?

If you currently have Megacom 800 you are using T1 service..you could have anywhere from 1 to 24 channels of service...each call only takes (1) trunk. If you are changing to Readyline and converting your existing T1 circuit to PRI you will have quite a bit of programming to do...converting to PRI...setting up the D channel and 23 B channels...If you are not familuar with programming on your Legend I would recommend getting ahold of a tech to do this work for you...it can be a little overwhelming first time.....

Good Luck
