Hi I am trying to move move a file where the UNC path is quite long (approx 400 chars).

I did some research online and Microsoft say I should be putting \\?\UNC\ at the start but so far am not having any luck.

Any ideas on the best way of doing this?

Thanks very much

Ed

Yes.
Map a subfolder of the network share as network drive, e.g. map "\\server\folder\level1\level2" as drive letter Z or whatever. Go deep enough to reduce the length of drive + path + file name to less than 128 characters.
