After setting up a project and subproject structure in VSS I identified a more logical orginaztion of some of my support files of a particular subproject in my VSS database. This mainly was a result of finding a better way to retreive the files from the VSS database in to corresponding work folders in my local work environment that would better suit my local work environment compile/build tools.
My question is I would simply like to move a file from an existing subproject to a different subproject. I no longer want it to exist where it previously was located. When I just did a drag and drop of course it shared the file and created a branch. I then deleted the file in the original subproject but my new subproject still shows this as a branched version which isn't really what I wanted.
I suppose the correct thing to do would have been to add a completely new copy into the new suproject and then remove the original copy from the original subproject...but too late for that now.
Anyway, does anyone have suggestions on this? I would think these general project/subproject structure changes would be quite common when first setting a project up in VSS.
