Moving Exch. Server 5.5 to a new machine

Does anyone have a link to information regarding moving Ex. Server from one server to another and then shutting down the initial machine? Thanks

My guess would be do the following:


Do a full back-up. Verify the backup
Then build your new server with the same name as the old.
Restore the backup to your new machine.
Take the other server off the network before the new one wakes up.
