I want to copy an excel chart into word. Yes, I know how to copy and paste. However, this copies the source data as well as the graph, which quickly makes my word file huge and crash-prone. Is there any way to copy just the image of the chart and not the source data? If so, how?

Hi lyrl,

Your solution is not much different than what you have attempted.

You possibly have been using the keyboard shortcut method of the copy/paste function... Control-C for copy, and Control-V for paste.

For "copying", you can use either: "Control-C" -or- "Right-Click and choose Copy".

But, for the "Paste" into Word, be sure to use Word's MENU, from which you need to choose: "Edit" - "Paste Special" - and then choose "Picture (Enhanced Metafile)".

I expect this will resolve your problem.
