I've moved data on a 5.5 exchange before but don't know 2003 well (I've said to myself that I will never do it again. Took an entire weekend) . I am running out of space and need to move the database to the same server but on a different partition. I would greatly appreciate any docs. I am hoping that 2003 made it easier then 5.5 to move it.

Thanks in advance.

It's very simple to move on E2003. Just get properties on the Mailbox Store that you want to move (during off-hours) and change the path of the database (both .edb and .stm). When you click OK, the system will take the store offline, move it, and remount it. You may want to move the log file location as well, in which case you would also get properties on the root Storage Group and set a new log and system path location.

I'd run a backup first, just in case, but otherwise the move should be smooth.

ShackDaddy,

Thanks for your info. didn't think it would be that easy. It was truly a pain as I recall in 5.5.

Thanks
