We have two TSM servers running our backups. On server two (target server) we created temporary storage pool volumes to accomodate a huge backup. Now we have plenty of volumes that are empty that I would like to use instead of the temporary files ( I want to delete the temporary files when they are all empty). I know I can do a move data between volumes but since this is server two how would server one know that a move has been done. Will it still find those files since it was moved on tsm server 2. Do I have to do the move data from tsm server 1 to make this work and if so how would I know which files to move without going through each volume. Thanks in advance.

Hi
Is this a server-to-server virtual volume environment?

If so, can you explain your problem in terms of storage pool names, device classes, and server names?

Kind Regards,
