Here is my situation: I have a brand new Compaq Proliant ML530 server running Win 2K. My current file/print server is a Proliant 3000 running NT 4.0. I want to copy all of the file shares over to the Win 2K server. I've been told that the best way to do this is to do a restore from tape. My question is how to do this while keeping all permissions/rights to the folders? I know you can copy a registry key from NT 4.0 server to another NT 4.0 server and it will keep all permissions. But, I'm not sure if you can do this going from a NT 4.0 server to a 2000 server. Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance!
