Hello,

I'm in the process of moving an old Avaya G3V6 to a new location with a new area code. I was wondering what I need to do to change the system to the new area code. What other changes should I be concerned about?

Thank you for your help,

Tom

change locations, put new area code, make sure ur new area code in your ars in hnpa, and in your route pattern you put the new area code in the npa

How would I add the new area code to the system? Does anyone know the command? I have played around with the ARS, but never really had to change the systems area code. I don't want to miss anything.

Thanks,

Tom

change locations
change ars a XXX XXX being your new local area code

I did not have to option to change location, maybe it's do to the fact that this PBX is a R6. I did however go into change dial and changed the area code in there. In addition, I have changed all the route patterns to the new area code. When adding this new area code to the ars should I do "change ars a 425(new area code) 291(NXX) 7 min 7 max (route pattern) hnpa? Anything else I missed?

Thanks again!!

looks good so far, remember to also change the ars entry for the old area code & make it FNPA

I have added the old area code to the ars as well. Thank you very much for your help!!
