When I utilise the command prompt, I cannot access directories that have a name greater than 8 characters in length. Any ideas?

What are you using for a command prompt, cmd.exe or command.com? It sounds like you are using the old dos command.com. This has a limit of 8 characters. For example the directory called "Documents and Settings" would be called docume~1. You should Not be using command.com in windows 2000, use cmd.exe, it has support for long filenames.

Hope This Helps!
