Hello

I get a very strange error when moving a mailfile from one server to another:

Error: Signer does not have the required access rights to the source database.

Does anyone have an idea on what to do? Thanks.

Regards

Have you checked the ACL?
To move a user's mail files, you must have:
Editor access with Create documents role, or Author access with the UserModifier role in the Domino Directory

yes i have checked tha acl. the old and new server are listed as managers on the acl.

one entry i have seen on the internet refers to some archive setting on the mailfile (where i dont know) which has an older certificate. but i dont have a clue where to look for that.

I have always moved mailfiles when the person who is moving the file has manager access, as well as the server

HI

It sounds like one server does not trust the other. If asked the question "Trust signer" than answer "Yes". Otherwise you may have to sign the database with the name of the destination server. Are the Servers in the same Domino named Network ?

Regards

David

yes they are both on the same domino named network

i have found a workaround for this issue.

i created a replica of the mailfile using adminp. once the mailfile was on the new mail server, i re-sent the move user request, adminp saw that there was a file already, and update the domino nab entry for the user.
