I had a question about keycodes. I know if you have a bad system that you can move keycodes to a new BCM. I have 2 BCM50s. One is our demo unit, the other one is our test unit, for now. I would like to move an IP client keycode from the demo to our test unit, if possible. I don't believe that you can. I am sure it is easier to get a new keycode. But I am curious if it is possible to move them. Thank you.

You can, but you will need to contact your Nortel rep to take care of that.

Thank you pronei. Only Nortel can, or can I go through KRS and generate my own keycode? We are a Nortel Partner. We are still new to Nortel, but I have access to krs. Or is it that the Nortel rep has to move them. I just want to clarify. Thank you.

If you can remove it from the Demo BCM using KRS, then you can generate a new keycode for the other one.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Nortel will have to do that for you. They have to move your license to a different system ID and reissue keycode.

If it's a replacement, yours does not apply. You can use KRS to generate a new keycode for the BCM you move it to. But, you have 30 days to send the original back or they charge you for the moved keycode.
