I am faced with a problem that I cannot seem to find the right resolution to.

I am attempting to move a Sybase database to a new instance of Sybase on another machine. I do not know what OS is on the original machine. I do know it's accessable by standard windows networking. The new instance of Sybase ASE 12_5 is on a windows 2000 machine. I've copied off the .dat file from the old machine. I cannot get it onto the instance of Sybase ASE on the new machine.

Everytime I get try to attach the database with the .dat file from the \data directory gives me an error that ends with "The Error Code Is : 2"

I found a dump file so I tried to attach it and was given "The Error Code Is :10". I can't do a load on it due to it telling me that it cannot connect to my backup server.

Does anyone have an idea of how to acomplish this?
