Moving a CE10 object repository to another CE10 server 1

Hello,

We have recently upgraded from Crystal Enterprise 9 (unmanaged reports) to CE 10 (Managed reports). In order to make the transition as smooth as possible, we set up a secondary server for CE10. Now we're all running off of that server, and things are working great. Now CE9 has been uninstalled and CE10 has been installed on the old server. Now everything needs to be moved back. And this is where I'm running into trouble..

We are referring to reports on our intranet using the report ID's (viewreport_ia.csp?id=xxxx). After using the migration tool to copy the object repository back to the original server, it looks as though the report ID's have been preserved (looking at the location of the rpt's in the input folder), however, the ID's seem to have changed... When I click on preview in the admin console, I see a different ID used to view the report. This would mean I would have to go through my intranet pages and redo all the links.. Something I really don't like to do....

Second thing I tried is to shut down the MS-SQL service on both servers and copy the input/output repository as well as the database from the new to the old server and then restarting all crystal and SQL services. That didn't work either, and Crystal seems to think now that it has an empty repository with no users defined.. It even lost track of its software keys..

So my question is: How can I move the object repository from one server to another while maintaining the report ID's? And if this is not possible, how can I refer to the reports using another unique identifier that will not change if reports are moved around...

Thanks for your help!

What id's seem to have changed? Right click on the object on both the servers for the same object and that should be the id you are to reference in your reports.

Those are the id's that actually changed when I used the migration/import tool that comes with CE10. One report had ID 493 and became 404 after the import.. Any other suggestions?

The only other suggestion I can think of is try using the Crystal Publishing wizard to import the files. And do one report or folder at a time instead of the whole and test.

If I do that, I get new ID's assigned by default.. I was hoping there was some way to move the objects from one server to the other (empty server) without having the ID's changed. As I said in my initial post, I even tried to do this by copying the input file repository to the other server as well as the SQL database...

I am sorry but I don't know more. Import wizard should not have changed the id's. If I come across a solution I will let you know...
