movie width - bigger than 2800 pixels?

How do you make a movie, or a symbol within a movie larger than 2800 pixels wide? Or appear to be larger than 2800 pixels wide? Look at

The content on Barney's site "appears" to be extreamly long - 6400 pixels. It looks like there is just one long movie that one can slide to based on the How did Josh Davis do this?

These sites are all about graphics right? He wants to keep the graphic resolution cool while maintaining the ability to create wide effects? My guess is that he has imported large res graphics, stuck them into scaled down movie-clips, and then rescaled the movie-clip containing the graphics when the user loads the site.
