Guys!!! I really need ur help!

I've got a 20 frame by frame animation. In order to move it and animate it further I've converted it to a movie clip. It plays just fine under the library preview tab, but when i drag it on the stage it only brings in one frame?! It definetely is a movie clip, not a graphic and it does have all 20 frames when u try to edit the movie clip.

Any ideas? please help me out

thnx [sig][/sig]

Hi!

Have you tried Testing the Animation with Ctrl + Enter. Flash 4 doesn't allow you by default to view your Movie Clips without Testing them. If that still doesn't work check the properties of it by doubleclicking on it and make sure tht it is set to Movie Clip. That should do the trick! unfortunately your suggestion did not work... even when u preview it with ctrl+enter it still has only frame.. and in the movie property it's set as a movie clip...

any other ideas? :) [sig][/sig]

I'm probably in over my head here, but don't you need to insert an ActionScript to 'Play' the movie clip? In which case you shall need to attach it to a button which directs it to frame whatever to play?

I believe I've seen it done that way. I understand your frustration, though. Macromedia could do a heck of a lot more thorough or comprehensive a job of instructing users how to make this thing work. They gloss over so many areas. For instance, I'm having trouble with a simple masking technique: shows in edit mode, disappears in test movie mode. No clue as to why. I've read everything I have in six different manuals/guides. I've scoured online. I've posted in forums like this. I still don't know.
This kind of thing should be clearly delineated by the software developers.

Kind of lets you know their primary interest, doesn't it?
