Well hey,
I have a question about sounds and movies synching up. I made some movies that I thoroughly tested on my machine. In said movies, certian parts of a song are supposed to sync up with parts of the action for more hilarity. When I watch my movies on my hard drive, everything is fine. However, when I watch them over the net, the movie portion starts to slow down while the sound part stays constant. Eventually, the movie is 5-10 seconds behind where it should be, and no more hilarity. Any help for this problem? Just to add to the confusion, the browser that you use to view the movie seems to impact the slow down. Some other details that may or may not change anything:

My site views the .swf file, not an html site
The sound file is not put in a movie clip, but just added to the stage

thanks for any help,
skiz

oh man, you're making me reveal my lack of knowledge. curses!!

i haven't set the audio to do anything really, so if you need to do something special to stream it, i have not done that. all i did was import the song, then drag it on to the studio. do you think streaming would help the problem? also, would i need to have it pre-load the song to make sure that it didn't get choppy? thanks again, much appreciated.

I don't know if you're using mx or mx2004, I've never seen mx, but in mx2004, you click on the frame that has your sound, at the bottom, open your properties window, and then beside "sync", which should be defaulted to "event", click on the arrow and set them to stream. You will have to do this for each sound. Hope it works for you, I've never tried it, but I've seen it recommended to fix just the problem you're having.

Good Luck,
Adam

rad man. i'm using old flash (5), but i'll see if i can set up streaming anyway. thanks a lot for your help.

I just made the jump from flash 5 a week or so ago....same thing as I had said, click the frame and then in your sound panel, click beside sync.
