Here is my inventory:

Cable Modem (Terayn tj716x)
Wireless G Router 2.4(Linksys)
2 Dell Laptops (running wireless)
1 Clone Desktop (hard wired)

As of 2 days ago, everything worked fine. I moved it to a new room (closer to the laptops) and now have the below problem.

1. My hard wired desktop will only work (internet and network) when plugged into the cable router. If I connect the cable router to the wireless router, and run the desktop off of the wireless router ports (any of them, 1-4), the desktop gets no signal at all.

2. When connected together (both routers), both laptops show excellent signal strength (internet) but cannot get the internet (via explorer or firefox).

I am not running WEP or any other security on the router. I have also restarted everything numerous times.

I don't have a cable connection here, nor have I had much experience of them.

First of all substitute the patch lead between cable modem and router, to ensure that's not where the problem lies.

Try turning the power off to both modem and router, then power up the cable modem first, then the router.

Maybe the WAN settings in the router 'popped out' when it was moved. Linksys routers can do some strange things sometimes... I believe you'd want the Linksys WAN set to DHCP so it would obtain a 192.168.1.x address from the cable modem, although your ISP could possibly advise you on that.
